SHE'S LIKE PERFECT FOR THE ROLE. BECAUSE NATIVE AMERICANS DON'T NATURALLY HAVE BLUE EYES AND HERS... UM... AREN'T EITHER.

BUT THAT'S BESIDE THE POINT, RIGHT?

Originally on Tegaki-E, but it ate it while I was trying to upload. Thankfully I screencapped it. Cleaned up a little bit more in photoshop and took away my messy handwriting.

Point is that there are no real races in Avatar thus making it hard to really cast good people.

wait... seriously? blonde hair and blue eyes? I mean geeze, they didn't even -try- at least a wig and contacts MAYBE would have made it passable if they couldn't find a good actor that looked similar looking to someone who is inuit. I mean geeze. (which I don't know why they didn't)

So far only aang looks the part really :/

A WHITE CHICK. Because apparently there are NO actors of color out there who would make a stunning Katara or something. What. The. Fuck. The worst excuse I heard someone say was "Well most PoC don't have naturally blue eyes!"

Guess what? 1) Contacts are a lot less work than basically putting on blackface to play a role, and 2) THE ACTRESS HAS GREEN EYES ANYWAY.

Except as far as I can tell they didn't even try. They chose bullshit racist casting. THE ACTORS FOR KATARA AND SOKKA ARE PALER THAN ZUKO'S. Because obv. only white people can be protagonists.
