Girl Power - Princess Aurora

Description

"Disney Princess for Adults" seem to always mean "Disney Princesses for chubby teenage boys who can't get laid" (Phrasing entirely to credit to my BFF Amanda who doesn't have a deviantart account). After seeing an article on MSN or somewhere about another splash of Disney Princesses as sexy lingerie pin-up girls, I was inspired.

As XKCD put it, "We're the adults now, and it's our turn to decide what that means."

So I wanted to draw what my favorite princess (Aurora, from Sleeping Beauty) would be like for me, an adult.

Strong and capable, prepared to take matters into her own hands. No she isn't going to fight Maleficent, don't be silly! Girls can be strong without turning them into stereotypical boys with girl parts, too. No, she merely took the wand as a distraction to get her to listen after she finally figured out why Maleficent was gunning for her, apologized for her parents' RUDE behavior, and sincerely invited Maleficent to her birthday bash/engagement party.

I can't imagine Aurora lived with fairies for sixteen years without learning how to deal with them, even if she didn't know it at the time.

Heels, crown, and clunky necklace have been stashed away back at the bedroom for safekeeping. You ever try running from a dragon while weighed down by all that? Yeah, doesn't work that way.

Pose referenced by the amazing =SenshiStock.

Princess Aurora/Sleeping Beauty is (c) Disney.

Thank you for saying so. Also, I like the jagged tears on her blue skirt.
